And this is coming from a guy who isn't too sure he likes the idea of Alicorn Twilight. But, I'm gonna reserve my full judgement until the episode airs; I'd love to be proven wrong. ...but that doesn't mean I can't make her look epic in the meantime. :3
Credit to my good friend for making the amazing Alicorn Twilight Vector used in this wallpaper
As with your previous artwork, I like the way the grass looks on the hill Twilight is standing on. It looks very detailed and realistic which adds an epic feel to the artwork. I also enjoy the little lens flare on her eye that I assume you did apart from the vector art.
The main thing that catches my eye is what the hill is placed on. I can't tell if it is fog or if it is water and I don't think that as bad. I think it as quite the opposite and like how we don't know for sure how high the hill is. It allows us to play with our imagination and determine which of the two elements would make the picture more epic. Not only that, but the fact that the night sky is in the background as well doesn't point out whether it is either water or fog because either element would still look good in front of it and it doesn't mess up that epic feeling by choosing the element some people wouldn't agree works with it.
In short, I think that this is a better artwork than your Luna piece you asked me to critique the other day because of the imagination I feel it sparks in the mind of its viewers.
I don't really understand why people are hatin' so hard on Alicorn Twilight. Although, I do understand that most fandoms don't react well to change anyway. I mean, it's gonna happen anyway, and hey, it has its possibilities. Who knows? Maybe something good will come out of it. And, she'll still be the same good ol' Twilight we all know and love, right?
