One night while performing in the royal palace. Princess Luna finds herself extremely impressed with Octavia's music, and decides to give her a gift for one night. She decides to give Octavia's instrument the power to move the stars in the sky. Octavia is amazed by this gift and goes all out with her music in front of a huge crowd, making the stars dance in the night. ---------------------------------------------------------------- I decided to make yet another piece featuring best background pony. I tried something new with this piece in terms of color. Usually when making an Octavia piece, I stick to the desaturated, old parchment, tanish look and feel. For this one, I decided to go all out with the purple colors of her cutie mark, and her eyes. I then combined that with a very dark blue seen in Luna wallpapers I do, and this is the result. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Credit to for the vector of Octavia's cello/double bass Credit to for the Octavia vector
This is very well executed. The positioning of the starburst effect behind here sets off a large contrast. It makes the whole image of Octavia standing on the mountain ridge seem more imposing, and let's face it: an imposing cellist is an epic cellist.
Also, you chose a good point to stop your purple "clouding" effect, just short of the halfway mark as this means you get to see the majority of Octavia, and it doesn't cloud her.
Also, the stars in the sky behind the main feature are quite nice, they are not too bright, and the dark colour only adds to the image as a whole.
the only slight issue i see [very slight] is that to my eye, her cello seems to be resting on nothing, and that it might be better placed closer to her hoof.
I think I just found my new wallpaper. This will be an interesting conversation piece when I'm chatting with my friends and decide to whip out the laptop for something or other.
