I tried something new with this one. Not only did I create the gemstones in 3D, but I also experimented with the depth of field, making the stars and gems off in the distance more blurry. I'm somewhat pleased with the results.

I might be kinda biased, since I'm generally attracted to the color purple, but I feel this is amaizing! The gems give me a sense of nostalgia, because they remind of the type of CG work done in the 90's in stuff like Reboot and Spawn. The astronomical back drop also gives me nostalgia, for stuff like Fantasia and the Sailor Moon films. But of course, Rarity is the main focus, and she looks stunning! The aura effect does a good job of making sure she just doesn't look like she's a random vector made to get a nice landscape piece into the pony-related group pages. I'm definitly gonna save this!
