I've been thinking about doing this for a while, and finally decided to actually make it. So here it is, a Princess Luna version of a wallpaper I did a while back: I'm much more satisfied with how this one turned out when compared to Celestia's version.
Again, This was inspired by the 2nd episode of Justice League Unlimited, and a Superman comic book, both entitled "For the Man Who Has Everything":
Seriously, go check out the comic, or even look up the Justice League Unlimited episode: [link]
Princess Luna has been forcibly trapped in a dream in which she is able to completely relive her childhood with her sister, where the nights are more beautiful than any night is in the real world; basically everything she ever wanted in her life is given to her in this dream. She grows up with Celestia, never being banished to the moon, or turning into Nightmare Moon, and lives a life of peace with both her and her sister watching over Equestria. Luna later finds out that all of it is just a dream, and knows she needs to leave since she has responsibilities she must attend to in the real Equestria. She walks out onto the outskirts of Canterlot in sadness during the middle of the night and looks back and sees a living memory of her and her sister as fillies. This is the last thing she sees before she wakes up, leaving her Utopian fantasy behind...

Very nice work on this piece. I love the feeling that it brings. I like how the ponies are kind-of translucent, a nice toutch. However, I don't really understand the background. What are older Luna ans younger Celestia and Luna standing on? Mountains? I get the feeling that you ment the younger versions to be memories. The light was a nice way to make this known. Another question I have, what is happening to the moon? It looks like it is going to explode. I'm not sure what you were trying to do there, the sparkles don't look like stars, because the are brighter near the moon, when they would have been slightly less bright in real life. I doubt Luna's magic could light it all up like that. But, the feeling makes up for the faults, and I like the piece overall.
Wow, this is officially the best artwork I have seen on DeviantArt. I like the dark touch you added. I can easily see why she's angry. I especially like the effect you added to give it a cool feel. I like how the moon glitters and sparkles in the sky. As for drawing the ponies, you did an excellent job on that! They look very much like the ones on the show. I think the purpose is clear enough. Correct me if I'm wrong, she was sad that the other two ponies were talking bad about her or leaving her out? Well, nice art!
dang. your drawings are amazing, the coloring, the slightly smoky/rainy/foggy background to blotch the figures, like a faded memory or something like that. LOVE IT! but makes me sad nonetheless
Hehe thanks so much Aria! Yep, I'm always pleased to see him feature my work, especially this Luna wallpaper. I hope his latest work ends up on EQD, as I haven't had much luck lately featuring my own work on EQD.
